Buying Hot-Gas-Path Parts for the GE MS6001B Frame 6B

Same family, own part numbers

If you already know the 9E outage conversation, the 6B conversation is shorter. It is not the same conversation. Do not paste a 9E original-equipment number onto a 6B request. Do reuse the data-pack discipline: stage, coating, dimensional inspection, and a written note if original-equipment and aftermarket metal will share stage 1. Below are three plant-style cases — pasted 9E numbers, a silent mix on stage 1, and a missing row two weeks before the outage — then a filled bill of materials. The answer to the emergency sits on this page, not on another article.

Request the row, not a nickname. First-stage and second-stage buckets, nozzles, shrouds, transition pieces and liners each have numbers. Coating follows firing temperature, so a later uprate on the same site can change the stack even when the frame name stays 6B. Mixed original-equipment and aftermarket metal on stage 1 needs a written note, the same rule as on the 9E. Euroturbine marks each line new-make, repair, or out of scope. A single price for «بلید ۶B» is how the combustion hardware disappears from the crate.

Frame 6B class hot gas path parts laid out
A 6B outage is still a bill of materials, not a single line that says turbine parts.

Case 1 — Combined-cycle 6B, someone pasted 9E numbers

The logic of the hot gas path is the same family: vacuum-cast nickel blades, coated rows, nozzle segments, transition pieces, liners. The scale is smaller and the part numbers are its own. Aftermarket process knowledge from the 9E line helps the shop. It does not let you reuse a 9E number. Lot availability also differs. Quote from the numbers on your plate, not from the reputation of the 9E aftermarket.

A combined-cycle unit on Frame 6B sends a shopping list copied from a sister 9E. The airfoils look familiar. The OEM numbers are 9E numbers. Euroturbine sends the list back and asks for the 6B plate and the 6B numbers. We will not invent a 9E substitute because the airfoil looks familiar from another job.

Case 2 — Original-equipment and aftermarket metal on stage 1

Coating follows the firing temperature the unit actually runs, not a generic 6B sentence. If OEM and aftermarket blades will share the first rotating row, engineering writes mass and coating family before the mix is allowed. Stage 1 is where a silent mix shows up first as a vibration or temperature complaint. The same discipline you already use on the 9E applies here. It is not optional because the machine is smaller.

The same 6B unit has a later uprate. The coating stack on stage 1 is no longer the stack the store remembers from ten years ago. Euroturbine writes the coating family from the firing temperature you actually run, then mass if the row will be mixed. A generic sentence «پوشش‌خورده، فریم ۶B» is not a specification.

Case 3 — A missing row two weeks before the outage

Casting slots do not appear in the last two weeks. Freeze the bill of materials when the outage gate is known. If only part of the set is scrap, a mixed repair and new-make plan is how the date is held. Emergency purchase — AOG in the sense the unit is already down, or will be down on a fixed date — can cover a missing row if a lot or a repair already exists in the shop. It cannot invent a whole stage in ten days. That is the distinction. We will put a date on a named serial that is already in process. We will not put a ten-day pour on a first-stage hollow blade that has not been tooled.

The 6B combined-cycle unit finds one stage-1 bucket scrap fourteen days before case-open. If a sister repair is already in the shop, Euroturbine moves that serial and writes the mix. If the whole stage is missing and no lot exists, we say so: the outage date holds only if you open on a repair already released, or you slip the date. Planning the outage around a hope that a whole stage appears in ten days is how the case stays open.

What a complete 6B bill of materials looks like

Nameplate: MS6001B, combined-cycle or industrial as the plate shows. Lines: stage-1 buckets, OEM number, quantity, hours, new-make or repair, coating family if an uprate changed it; stage-2 buckets the same way; nozzles and shrouds on their own lines; transition pieces and liners on their own OEM numbers, not under «قطعات توربین». If OEM and aftermarket will share stage 1, say so and ask for a mass and coating note. Photographs of a sample root if you only have a worn part. Outage date. Euroturbine marks each line new-make, repair, or out of scope.

Treat the 6B like a smaller 9E in discipline, not in part numbers. The numbers on the plate are the contract.

Frequently asked questions

Is 6B aftermarket as mature as 9E aftermarket?

The process is the same family. Lot availability is not. Price the job from the numbers on your plate, not from how often the 9E line is discussed in Iran.

Should transition pieces travel with the blade set?

List them, but as their own original-equipment numbers. They fail by different mechanisms and they should not share a single price line with rotating blades.

Can you expedite a whole 6B stage as an emergency?

A missing row can sometimes move if a lot or a repair already exists in the shop. Inventing a whole stage in ten days is not a promise we will put on paper. Plan the outage around a named serial already in process, or slip the date — not around a hope that a first-stage hollow blade appears without tooling.

Send the 6B original-equipment list as separate lines

Euroturbine will mark each line new-make, repair or out of scope, and will not reuse a 9E number because the family looks familiar.
